Alfalfa Streamlet

Operational advantages of Strumochok alfalfa

For farm managers, selecting a variety like Strumochok, developed by the ISG NAAS, is a decision rooted in stability and ease of cultivation. With a plant height of 80–100 cm, this variety offers an ideal structural profile for mechanized harvesting, ensuring efficient collection of biomass without unnecessary losses. Its physical characteristics are well-suited to the varied soil and climate conditions of Ukraine.

Field management and maintenance

The standout feature of Strumochok is its rapid recovery rate following cuts. For an operator, this means maintaining a consistent workflow with three to four harvests per season. The plant’s structure facilitates precise adjustment of mower-conditioners, significantly reducing downtime and equipment fatigue. Because the variety maintains high leafiness throughout the maturation stages, the quality of hay and silage remains consistently high, minimizing the need for additives.

Economic sustainability

Strumochok is designed for long-term productivity, which reduces the frequency of field reseeding and optimizes capital expenditure. Its natural resilience to temperature fluctuations and soil moisture stress simplifies the agronomic workload, allowing for a standard maintenance routine without the need for specialized, high-cost inputs. This reliability makes Strumochok a strategic choice for livestock-focused operations that require predictable feed supplies year after year.
