Cherry plum Sigma

Obtained at the Crimean Experimental Selection Station of the All-Russian Research Institute of Crop Production named after N.I. Vavilov from the cross between Chinese Plum Speed-Fruit x Alycha Pioneer. Authors: G.V. Yeremin, S.N. Zabrodina. Approved for the North Caucasus region.

Medium-growing tree, crown flat-round, medium density.

Fruits are broadly oval, medium size, red-purple with a waxy bloom. Flesh is yellow, medium density, tart-sweet. Flavor pleasant. Stone does not detach. Fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and canning.

Ripens in mid-early season — in mid-July. High winter hardiness. Resistant to diseases. Self-sterile.
