Chinese-American plum seedling 'Fibing' self-pollinated with peach. Originator — Crimean Experimental Selection Station of the All-Russian Institute of Plant Industry named after N.I. Vavilov. Authors: G.V. Yeremin, S.N. Zabrodina. Introduced into the State Register for the North Caucasus and Central regions in 1995.
Tree is weak-growing, with flat, dense crown; branches are long, mostly 5-7 cm long. Stem is dark-gray, even, medium thickness, with medium-sized lenticels. Shoots: horizontal position, medium thickness — 2-7 mm, medium number of lenticels, no anthocyanin pigmentation at the tip of growing shoot; sun-burned side of the shoot is brown-red, medium intensity. Flower buds are medium-sized, oval, pressed, scales of unfolding buds are green. Leaf blade: initial growth direction upward, then horizontal; medium size — length 60 mm, width 37 mm, oval shape, apex strongly pointed; upper side of leaf is green, surface wrinkled, medium gloss; upper leaf surface lacks pubescence, underside has weak pubescence along midrib and lateral veins. Margin is doubly serrated, slightly wavy. Petiole is medium length — 11-14 cm, medium thickness — 1.2 mm, with deep groove, strongly anthocyanin pigmented, glands present, weak pubescence. Flower: two flowers form from bud; on one-year shoot, medium flower quantity. Size very small — diameter 14-15 mm, weakly open; petals white, small, length 0.5 mm, width 5.5 mm, egg-shaped, medium petal edge undulation. Anthers medium quantity — 24. Filaments length 3-5 mm, slightly curved, stamens yellow, rounded, above stigma. Stigma slightly curved, length 9 mm, stigma rounded, ovary bare. Calyx bell-shaped, glabrous. Sepals reflexed from corolla, glabrous, oval shape, length 3 mm, width 2 mm, green. Pedicel thick, short, 6-8 mm long.
Fruits are large, height 41 mm, width 39 mm, thickness 40 mm, 32 g, broad-egg-shaped, maximum diameter at base, slightly asymmetric, ventral suture deep at base, apex slightly elongated. Pit medium depth. Skin color main yellow-red, covering purple, solid. Medium number of lenticels, yellow. Wax coating weak. Medium number of lines. Flesh yellow-green, medium density, finely fibrous, medium juiciness. Cut surface darkens slightly in air. High sugar content, low acidity. Small aroma. Skin thick, elastic, easily separates. Stone semi-detachable. Pedicel medium length — 13 mm, thin — 1.2 mm, glabrous. Stone medium, length 21 mm, width 12 mm, thickness 8 mm, oval (in profile) and rounded-elongated on ventral suture side, symmetrical, maximum width at center. Ridge weakly developed, not pointed. Surface slightly rough, almost smooth. Spine margins fused. Ventral suture wide, base medium width. Base shape elongated.
Fruits are good for fresh consumption and suitable for canning. Canning evaluation: juice with pulp — 4.3 points, compote — 4.1 points, jam — 4.2 points. Fruits contain on fresh weight: dry matter — 11.0%, sugars — 7.1%, acids — 2.35%, sugar-acid ratio 3.0, ascorbic acid — 7.04 mg/100g.
Blooms at medium time — mid-April. Self-incompatible. Ripe at early time — beginning of July, not simultaneously. High yield. High winter hardiness, medium drought resistance. Resistant to diseases.
Advantages: high productivity, large fruit size and good fruit quality, winter hardiness, disease resistance, and weak growth.
Disadvantages: uneven fruit ripening, insufficiently good stone detachment, long thorns that become spines.
