Cherry plum Kyiv Hybrid

Efficiency in the orchard: Why "Kyivska Hybrid" is a producer's choice

For small-scale farms and orchards, "Kyivska Hybrid" offers a practical solution to pollination issues. Being self-fertile, this variety eliminates the need for cross-pollinators, allowing for efficient space management. Developed by the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden in Kyiv, it is well-adapted to local climatic conditions, while its compact size (2.5–3 meters) simplifies pruning and maintenance.

Practical application and management

• Fresh Market: The dark red fruits, weighing 30–50 grams, offer a distinct sweet flavor. Their soft texture makes them ideal for direct sales and local distribution where quick turnover is preferred.
• Processing: The variety's universal nature makes it suitable for preserves, purees, and fruit sauces. The soft flesh breaks down quickly during cooking, which optimizes processing time in large batches.
• Harvesting Operations: With a yield of up to 60 kg per tree, the manageable height allows for efficient manual harvesting without the need for specialized tall-reach equipment, significantly reducing labor costs.

The medium ripening period allows growers to stagger their harvest season, avoiding the pressure of early summer market gluts. This variety serves as a reliable, high-yield asset for those looking for consistent results with straightforward orchard management.
