Chinese plum, early-bearing, Russian plum, dessert. Originators — Crimean Experimental-Selection Station, All-Russian Research Institute of Plant Growing named after N.I. Vavilov and Belarusian Research Institute of Fruit Growing. Authors: G.V. Yeremin, S.N. Zabrodina, V.A. Matveev, M.P. Malukovich. Approved for Central Chernozem and Lower Volga regions in 1993.
Medium-sized tree, flat-round crown, medium density. Gray, even, medium-thick trunk, large, few lenticels. Horizontal, thick shoots — 3.5-4.0 mm, sparingly branched, green tip of growing shoot, brown-red shoot blush of medium intensity. Developing (bouquet) branches short-lived — up to 3 years. Flower buds small or medium-sized, round, lagging behind shoots. Petal scales of unfolding buds pink at edges. Leaf blade initially oriented upward, then takes horizontal position. Oval, large, length 54 mm, width 32 mm, base wedge-shaped. Tip sharply pointed, upper surface light green, glossy to medium extent, weakly hairy. Leaf margin serrated. Edge waviness medium. Stipules absent. Leaf petiole medium length — 13-14 mm, hairless, medium thickness — 12 mm, with deep groove, intensely colored with anthocyanin. Two flowers develop from each bud, many on the shoot, with two petals, small size — 16-17 mm, slightly open. Petal small, 8 mm long, 7 mm wide, broad-oval, medium-edged waviness, apex wavy. Many stamens — more than 26, short filaments — 4-5 mm, straight. Style of pistil slightly curved, 9 mm long. Stigma above anther, round. Ovule naked. Calyx bell-shaped, hairless. Sepals oval, length 3 mm, width 2 mm, pressed against corolla. Pedicel medium length and thickness.
Fruit medium or large, length 30 mm, width 33 mm, mass 31 g, oval shape, maximum diameter at center of fruit, asymmetric, no ventral suture. Apex rounded, pit medium depth. Waxy coating medium. Main skin color yellow, covering uniform, red-purple. Many subcutaneous dots, yellow, moderate striation. Skin medium thickness, elastic, easily separates. Flesh orange, fibrous, medium density, low juice, slice darkens slowly in air, cavity orange. Sugar content medium, acidity low. Stone medium, mass 0.53 g, 2.39% of fruit mass, length 17 mm, width 1.6 mm, thickness 11 mm, oval shape, light-brown color, semi-detachable. From ventral suture side, shape elongated-elliptical. Symmetrical, maximum width at center. No ridge. Surface warty. Edges of continuous suture do not fuse, intact. Ventral suture width medium, base wide, narrowly-rounded, apex pointed. Peduncle: short — 6-10 mm, hairless, tightly attached to fruit.
Fruits suitable for fresh consumption and preservation. Preservation evaluation: juice with pulp — 4.3 points, compote — 4.4 points, jam — 4.3 points, frozen fruit — 4.0 points. Fruits contain on fresh weight: dry matter 12.30%, sugars 8.1%, acids 1.69%, sugar-acid index 4.8, pectin substances 0.35%, polyphenols 481 mg/100g, flavonols 22.5 mg/100g, anthocyanins 39.0 mg/100g, ascorbic acid 6.4 mg/100g.
Blooms early in early April. Self-sterile. Ripens medium-early — mid-July. High and regular yield. At overripening, fruits do not drop long, resistant to cracking. High winter hardiness, medium drought resistance. Resistant to diseases. Highly adaptable.
Advantages: high adaptability and productivity, good flavor and preservation qualities of fruits.
Disadvantages: poorly detachable stone.
