AUTUMN SOUVENIR is a quince variety obtained by crossing 'Late Conservative' and 'Distinction'. The tree is of medium height with a round, compact crown, reaching up to 3–4 meters. The beautiful crown shape makes the tree attractive as an element of garden decor.
The fruits of the AUTUMN SOUVENIR quince are large, weighing from 250 g to 380 g, round or oval-cylindrical in shape with smooth thin skin. At full maturity, they acquire a bright yellow color and remain hairless. The flesh is creamy, juicy, dense, aromatic, with a sweet-and-sour taste. The chemical composition of the fruits is characterized by a high content of dry matter (≈17–21 %) and sugars (≈8–10 %), as well as a moderate level of acidity.
The variety is distinguished by good frost hardiness, early fruiting, and stable yield: from one adult tree, you can collect from 50 to 90 kg of high-quality fruits. The fruits are suitable for both fresh consumption and making homemade preserves – jams, compotes, jellies. Thanks to their soft structure, they are well stored without a refrigerator until February–March, and when stored in a refrigerator, the storage period is extended until February.
Harvest ripeness occurs in the first decade of October (first crop) and at the end of September – beginning of October (second crop), which makes AUTUMN SOUVENIR an ideal choice for autumn harvest. Technical processing is also possible due to a high marketable percentage (≈92 %).
