Crimea Early is a medium-sized apple quince tree variety that begins to bear fruit quickly, as early as 4–5 years after planting. The tree has a compact, dense crown and reaches a height of up to 3.5 m. Its self-fertile nature allows it to be grown in single plantings without the need for neighboring pollinators; yields increase with partners.
The fruits of this variety are large, weighing from 260 g to 350 g, have an obovate or flat-oblate shape with a slightly lumpy surface. The skin is thin and smooth at full maturity, colored in bright yellow. The flesh is light cream color, fine-grained, without stony inclusions, juicy and medium density. The taste combines sourness and sweetness, giving the fruit a pleasant aroma.
The 'Crimea Early' variety matures in early September – late October, making it ideal for early harvesting. The fruits are suitable both for direct consumption and for processing without removing the skin: jams, compotes, jellies and other homemade preparations. Quince is heat-loving, so when planting, choose protected from wind sunny places. Thanks to simple care and high yield (from 50 kg to 60 kg per adult tree), this variety is popular among gardeners who want to get a quality product in the shortest possible time.
