Actinidia is a perennial vine native to the Actinidia genus, prized by landscape designers for its decorativeness and ease of care. The plant features large leaves with mottled coloring and bright fragrant flowers that create a tropical atmosphere in the garden. Support is required for growth – trellises, pergolas, gazebos, or walls – which allows actinidia to be used as a living hedge or decorative element along a fence.
Actinidia fruits are juicy and sweet, rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, and trace elements. They are valued as both dietary and dessert varieties: one type of plant is typically used as garden decoration, while another is for fruit production. Thanks to adaptation to Ukraine's climate conditions, actinidia easily withstands winter and spring frosts, while remaining moisture-loving and light-loving.
Growing actinidia does not require complex conditions: the plant thrives in a temperate climate, requiring only regular watering and protection from strong winds. With proper planting and support, it can reach a length of up to 8 meters while remaining resistant to diseases and pests. This makes actinidia an excellent choice for both decorative purposes and for harvesting useful berries in home gardens.
