Actinidia 'Septemberskya' is a large-fruited species of Actinidia arguta, distinguished by its high yield and excellent berry flavor. The plant reaches a height of 6 to 8 meters, with a stem diameter of up to 15 cm. The leaves are oval-shaped, green, and turn light yellow in autumn. The flowers are large, white with a slight greenish tint, and bloom in June-July.
The fruits of 'Septemberskya' have dark green skin and an oval shape, with a single berry weighing up to 16–20 g. The flesh is light green, juicy, with a pineapple and kiwi aroma; they contain about 18% sugar and 0.5% acidity, as well as 182.5 mg of vitamin C per 100 g. The berries are considered among the sweetest among actinidias.
Successful cultivation requires a support system—poles with tensioned wire—as the plant can reach heights exceeding 10 m. The plant is resistant to diseases and pests, frost-hardy down to -25 °C (some sources mention -34 °C). The optimal soil is slightly acidic (pH 5.5–6.5), fertile, and well-drained. It is recommended to plant in pairs: 3-5 female plants to one male for pollination purposes. Young plants should be covered in the first two years and mulched.
Care includes regular watering during hot weather, feeding with humates in spring and during fruiting, as well as disease prevention using preparations such as Horus, Twixa, Ridomil, and Bordeaux mixture. The variety pairs well with grapes, fruit trees, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and coniferous plants, making it convenient for integration into garden compositions.
