Description FAR EASTERN
Actinidia is a multi-year shrub-vine from the Actinidiaceae family, known for its decorative foliage coloring and fragrant white flowers. The plant can reach a height of up to 7 meters, growing straight at first and then beginning to wrap around the support, creating an effective vertical structure. Leaves are simple, round-oval shaped, changing color from green to silver-white and then to a raspberry shade, which gives the plant bright decorativeness throughout the entire season.

Actinidia fruits are small berries weighing 2–4.5 grams, usually green with longitudinal light stripes. They have a sweet taste and juiciness, containing from 4.49% to 8.37% sugars, as well as 0.78%–2.14% acids. Berries have a high content of vitamin C (up to 930 mg/100 g), carotene, and potassium, making them beneficial for the immune system, cardiovascular protection, and vision.

For growing actinidia, a moderate climate with sufficient moisture is required. The plant prefers loose, fertile soil, but can adapt to various soil types provided there is a good drainage system. When planting, it is important to ensure a distance between bushes of 1 to 2 meters and provide support for vine growth. Regular fertilizing in the spring period and moderate watering contribute to healthy development, while pruning after flowering helps maintain a compact form and stimulate the appearance of new shoots.
