Description YALTINETS
The Yaltinetz apricot cultivar is a vigorous tree with a rounded, spreading crown of medium density. The leaves are large, wide, round, and matte, while the shoots are straight, reddish-brown, and hairless. The tree is characterized by enhanced winter hardiness, drought resistance, and above-average disease resistance, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. Yaltinetz is sun-loving and shade-tolerant, preferring moderate moisture and garden soils, which contributes to its successful cultivation. The apricot fruits are large, weighing up to 64 grams, oval or egg-shaped with a rounded apex and a small beak. The main fruit color is yellow-orange with a beautiful carmine blush covering up to 50% of the surface. The skin is of medium thickness, weakly pubescent, and velvety. The flesh is light orange, confluent-fibrous, of medium density and juiciness, with a slight aroma and a pleasant sweet-sour taste, confirmed by a tasting score of 4.3 points. The seed stone is of medium size and separates easily from the flesh, although the kernel is bitter. The cultivar ripens in the early part of the second decade of July and is distinguished by regular, high yields—up to 12.5 tons per hectare. The fruits have good table and preserving qualities, as well as good transportability. Yaltinetz is valued for its versatility in use, including fresh consumption and processing. Due to its characteristics and hardiness, this cultivar is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking a high-quality and tasty apricot harvest.
