Description Prizer
The Prizer apricot variety was bred in 2008 at the South-Urals Research Institute of Pomology and Potato Growing, specifically adapted for cultivation in the Urals region and the Moscow Region. The tree reaches a height of 4-5 meters and is characterized by a wide-spreading crown with dense bright green foliage. Fruit bearing begins in the 3rd-4th year after planting, allowing for a stable yield of up to 23 kg per tree. The variety is partially self-fertile, but for better pollination, it is recommended to plant it near varieties such as Kichigin, Honey, Snezhinskiy, or Chelyabinsk Earley.

The Prizer apricot fruits are small, weighing from 18 to 25 grams, round in shape with a wide silhouette. The main fruit color is bright yellow with a slight orange tint; the skin is elastic and requires some effort to peel. The flesh is light orange, of medium juiciness, possessing a pleasant aroma and sweet-sour taste without bitterness. The pit separates from the flesh at a medium level, and the flesh does not darken upon contact with air, making the fruits attractive for fresh consumption and processing.

The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness, enduring frosts down to -40 degrees and above, as well as resistance to diseases and pests, which significantly eases care and increases crop reliability. The Prizer apricot is versatile in application: its fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, making preserves, and drying into dried fruits. Moreover, they are rich in vitamins C, A, B group, and minerals, making this variety not only tasty but also beneficial.
