Rootstock 83 1 15 is a clonal form obtained through the hybridization of Krichunel 2 with a breeding form from the family (SB 12-375 x Amur). Young shoots are characterized by a semi-closed light green crown and brightly colored leaflets, which give the plant an attractive appearance. Leaves are of medium size, three-lobed, unsected, and strongly blistered – resembling Amur grape leaves.
Shoots of this rootstock demonstrate powerful growth and intense coloring on the illuminated side. Cuttings root to a high degree, which facilitates propagation. The variety differs in good affinity to European-Amur varieties, as well as resistance to various fungal diseases, including mildew and oidium.
Key advantages of 83 1 15 are high frost resistance, moderate degree of damage from root phylloxera (1.5-2 points), and good chlorosis resistance. Thanks to these characteristics, the rootstock is suitable for cultivation in conditions with low temperatures and high humidity, and ensures stable growth and development of grafted apple varieties.
