Description URAL 5
URAL 5 – semi-dwarf clonal rootstock, specifically developed to ensure sustainable growth and high yield of apple trees in the steppe zone of the Urals. It has undergone extensive testing in the climatic conditions of the Southern Urals, particularly in the city of Orenburg, where it demonstrated excellent winter hardiness and the ability to maintain productivity even in severe frosts.

The root system of the 'URAL 5' rootstocks is characterized by its power and deep penetration beyond the canopy. This ensures the tree's stability against wind loads, enhances its regenerative ability, and promotes rapid rooting of cuttings in nurseries and saplings in orchards. Thanks to this root structure, the tree reaches a height of 3.5–4 m, remaining compact and convenient for management.

Fruit development begins as early as the 4th–5th year after planting, and yield compared to control varieties (e.g., 54-118) exceeds indicators by 40–50%. Over 30 years, the rootstock maintains a high level of preservation – up to 95%, and the condition of the plants is rated 4.5 out of 5. This makes 'URAL 5' a reliable choice for gardeners seeking stable and high productivity with moderate tree sizes.
