URAL 14 – a clonal rootstock of the apple tree (Malus Mill.), belonging to the group of medium-sized rootstocks. It is characterized by an upright bush form, strong and thick shoots that do not branch but remain straight, round, and green with pubescence. Buds are tight, medium-sized, also pubescent, while leaves are large, widely egg-shaped, short-pointed, green, and matte.
Key features include high drought resistance and heat tolerance, making the rootstock suitable for cultivation in conditions of high temperature and limited irrigation. Disease resistance is rated at 1 point, and the root system is fibrous and abundant, promoting good rooting.
URAL 14 is distinguished by high winter hardiness and compatibility with various apple varieties – the compatibility coefficient reaches 94–97 %. Thanks to these characteristics, the rootstock is widely used in horticulture for planting and caring for fruit trees, ensuring stable growth and fruiting. It is popular among gardeners both in Russia and abroad, thanks to its versatility and reliability in various climatic conditions.
