Product #58238 is a clonal rootstock form of apple trees that was studied within the context of breeding work aimed at developing varieties resistant to adverse environmental factors. Experiments conducted at the Orenburg branch of the FGBNU FNC Horticulture in 2021–2022 included form 58238 among research objects alongside other known clonal rootstocks, such as OB 2‑15, OB 4‑3, and Ural 5 #10.
Research results demonstrated that clone 58238 exhibits good adaptability under the steppe zone conditions of the Orenburg region. It demonstrates a stable yield of cuttings per bush and per unit area (hectare) of approximately 2.7–3.9 units, as well as productivity within the range of 48,000–50,600 thousand units/hectare at a budding score of up to 4.5 points. These indicators make it an attractive material for establishing intensive plantings and allow its use as source material for further development of high-yield plantings.
Key advantages of clones 58238 include their resistance to extreme climatic conditions, high productivity, and ability to bud quickly. Thanks to these characteristics, this clone is suitable for cultivation on various soil types and can be used both in open fields and in intensive farming systems.
