Rootstock 76 3 6

Innovative Rootstock «76 3 6»: A Breakthrough in Selection

Developed by the breeders at Michurinsk GAU (Chestnykh D. Yu., Solomatin N. M., Verzilin A. V.), this specialized rootstock is designed to address fundamental challenges in pomology, such as soil fatigue and pathogen pressure. The selection process focuses on high adaptation to specific soil structures and environmental stressors.

Technical Profile and Adaptability

The primary engineering solution in this hybrid is its biological compatibility with sandy loam soils. Unlike standard rootstocks that often suffer from growth suppression in light soils, «76 3 6» demonstrates a balanced root system development, ensuring optimal nutrient uptake even when soil moisture retention is limited.

• Phytosanitary Resilience: The breeding program prioritizes the reduction of fungicide reliance. The documented resistance to powdery mildew and root rot is critical for nurseries, significantly decreasing the risk of sapling culling during the early growth stages.
• Biological Resource: The moderate resistance to powdery mildew indicates that the plant possesses innate defense mechanisms that activate under moderate infection pressure, making this rootstock an effective component for integrated orchard management systems.

This product is the result of extensive research by Michurinsk GAU, aimed at increasing commercial orchard profitability by minimizing chemical inputs and enhancing survival rates on challenging soil types.
