Vegetative propagation via cuttings, performed in mid-summer, is also possible. Cuttings are planted in a light, moist substrate under protected conditions to ensure a stable microclimate until rooting occurs.

When selecting a planting site, it is necessary to consider the requirement for constant sunlight. The plant does not tolerate transplanting well, so it is optimal to plant it directly in its permanent location while considering the size of the mature shrub.

To accelerate germination, pre-soaking seeds in warm water or scarifying the seed coat can be applied. This shortens the waiting time for shoots and ensures more uniform development of the seedlings.

In regions with a moderate climate, planting young plants grown from cuttings into open ground is best scheduled for the second half of spring, once the soil has warmed up sufficiently to support root system growth.

Lembotropis prefers sunny, wind-protected areas where the plant can fully realize its decorative potential. The culture is quite demanding regarding light intensity.

Soil preferences include well-drained sandy or loamy soils with a neutral or slightly acidic pH. The plant reacts extremely negatively to water stagnation in the root zone.

An important factor for success is maintaining moderate soil moisture. Despite the drought tolerance of mature specimens, the plant requires regular watering during long periods without precipitation.

Lembotropis belongs to the Fabaceae family, which determines its ability to form a symbiosis with nitrogen-fixing bacteria. This allows the plant to adapt to soils with low nutrient content.

The winter hardiness of the shrub allows it to withstand moderate frosts; however, young plants need light protection for the first few years after planting to guard against sudden temperature fluctuations.

The crop is highly resistant to many pathogens, but excessive watering and poor drainage can lead to root rot. This disease causes stunted growth and the gradual death of the plant.

Among pests, various types of aphids pose the greatest danger, as they cluster on young shoots and buds, sucking out cell sap. Systemic insecticides are used for their control.

Powdery mildew can occur during periods of high humidity and poor air circulation within the canopy. Prevention consists of proper pruning and maintaining sparse spacing between bushes.

Spider mites can cause significant damage during hot and dry spells. Upon detection of the first signs of pest activity, treatment with acaricides must be carried out.

Monitoring the condition of the shrub throughout the growing season allows for the timely detection of infestation centers and prevents the spread of diseases to healthy parts of the plant.
