Mironivskyi 87

Barley variety Mironovskiy 87 is a cereal crop with a vegetation period ranging from 254 to 273 days. Plants are of medium height — from 72 to 87 cm, belonging to the medium-height group. The ear is multi-row, cylindrical, loose and semi-erect. The grain is elongated-elliptical, thin-husked with a gradual transition to the husk, with a long-hair main awn. This variety belongs to the pallidum type and is intended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Polissia, forest-steppe and steppe regions. Mironovskiy 87 is distinguished by high resistance to major diseases and adverse conditions. The variety exhibits good resistance to lodging (8 points), shattering (9 points), false powdery mildew (7 points), dwarf bunt (6 points), and leaf spot diseases (7-8 points). Thanks to high cold and drought resistance, this barley can be successfully grown both in the north and south of the country. To protect against fungal diseases, seed treatment with fungicides prior to sowing is mandatory. The optimal sowing period for Mironovskiy 87 is from October 1 to October 5, with a seed sowing depth of 4-5 cm. To ensure adequate plant nutrition, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied before sowing, while nitrogen fertilizers should be applied as the main fertilizer and spring topdressing. The grain of this variety is primarily used for feed purposes and contains protein within the range of 12.3-14.0%. The high yield potential allows obtaining stable and high yields even in dry years, making this variety a profitable choice for agricultural production.
