Originator — Institute of Plant Sciences named after V. Ya. Yuryev, NAAN.
Variety distinguishing features. Variety — Nutans (nutans). Plants of medium height (70 — 85 cm). Stems have strong anthocyanic coloring at the tips, long, serrated. Two-rowed ear, with moderate waxy coating, cylindrical, loose (11.7 nodes per 4 cm), medium length (7.5 cm). Sterile spike occupies a position from parallel to slightly deviated. Flower scales are finely wrinkled, with weak venation, gradually transitioning into the stem. Grains are elliptical, yellow, membranous. Main awn is long-hairy. Large-grained, 1000-grain weight 54 — 58 g.
Biological features. Maturity group — medium-early, vegetation period 89 — 96 days. Resistant to lodging (8.3 — 9.0 points), highly resistant to drought (9.0 points). Variety is a source of complex resistance to infection by powdery and downy mildew pathogens (8 points).
Agricultural features. Semi-intensive type variety. Recommended sowing rate 4.0 — 4.5 million viable seeds per hectare. Standard agronomic practices for the cultivation zone, early sowing dates.
Under production conditions, yield reached 5.19 t/ha (Volchansky DSCS, Kharkiv region) and 7.32 t/ha ("Agrofirm Dzhulinka", Vinnytsia region). Potential yield 8.5 — 9.0 t/ha. Grains have good brewing qualities: extractability — 80.3%, protein content 10.7 — 11.6%, uniformity 97.7%. Percentage of conditioned seeds 75 — 85%.
