Garant

Apple 'Garant' is a winter variety with late ripening, developed at the Institute of Horticulture of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Kyiv. It is a fast-growing tree with medium density and a wide rounded crown. On a medium-sized rootstock, the apple tree begins to bear fruit on the 3rd-4th year after planting and is characterized by regular yields, reaching 30-45 kg per tree. The variety has high winter hardiness and resistance to scab and powdery mildew, significantly simplifying care and increasing resistance to diseases.

The fruits of the 'Garant' variety are large, weighing 170-200 grams, with a round-conical shape and slight ribbing. Their color is greenish-yellow with a blurred cherry-red blush covering almost the entire surface, as well as subcutaneous speckles. The flesh is creamy, dense, and finely grained, of medium juiciness, with a sour-sweet taste rated 4.3-4.5 points for flavor quality.

Harvesting maturity occurs at the end of September, while consumer maturity starts in November and lasts until May without loss of flavor. The apples tolerate transportation and long-term storage in a refrigerator until mid-April, making the variety convenient for marketing and prolonged use. Due to its characteristics, the 'Garant' variety is included in the State Register of Plant Varieties suitable for distribution in Ukraine and is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking high-quality and reliable yields.
