Obereg Myronivskyi — a winter wheat variety recommended for cultivation in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions of Ukraine. This medium-early variety was registered in the Ukrainian Plant Variety Register in 2014 and developed by scientists of NAAN Ukraine. It is characterized by high winter hardiness, drought and heat resistance, ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions. The vegetation period is 262–268 days, and plant height reaches about 100 cm.
The variety has high yield potential — up to 9.5 t/ha, with 1000-grain weight reaching 51.1 g and grain density of 807 g/l. Grain quality is characterized by protein content of 13.5–14.0% and crude gluten of approximately 28.2%, corresponding to the first quality group. Obereg Myronivskyi belongs to the intensive type of varieties with high plasticity and resistance to major diseases such as brown rust, powdery mildew, septoria, fusarium, and root rot. Resistance to lodging is rated at 9 points, and to shattering — 8–9 points.
To achieve maximum productivity, the recommended seeding rate is 4.5–5.5 million germinating seeds per hectare. The agronomic practices for this variety include 2–3 applications against pests and diseases, as well as three applications of nitrogen fertilizers. The variety can be grown after any preceding crops, making it a versatile choice for agricultural enterprises aiming to obtain a stable and high-quality grain yield.
