Polysianka is a non-awned, medium-height winter soft wheat variety developed by the Cherkasy State Agricultural Experimental Station and registered in the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine in 2018. The variety is intended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and Polissia regions of Ukraine. The plant has a upright growth habit, a thick and strong stem approximately 88 cm tall, and is slightly loose. The ear is cylindrical in shape, medium density, 7.5 cm long, with teeth on the lower glumes. The grain is red in color, with a 1000-grain weight of 49 g. Polysianka exhibits high resistance to a complex of diseases, including powdery mildew, septoria, Fusarium ear rot, brown and stem rust. The variety has good drought tolerance and lodging resistance, with indicators above average. The vegetation period lasts approximately 273-284 days, making it medium-maturing. Winter hardiness is rated at 9 points. Yield reaches 8.9 t/ha, indicating high productivity. Grain quality is high: protein content is 13.2%, gluten content is approximately 27.1-27.9%. Baking and milling properties are good, flour strength ranges from 230 to 320 arbitrary units, loaf volume reaches 930-1100 ml. Due to these characteristics, the Polysianka variety is suitable for producing high-quality flour and bakery products. Modern resource-saving cultivation technologies are recommended to achieve maximum productivity and grain quality.
