Wheat Matrix

Matrix Winter Wheat: Performance and Yield Potential

The "Matrix" variety is a classic example of German breeding, designed to deliver high yields while remaining manageable in the field.

Field Performance and Management

One of the primary concerns for any grower is disease pressure, particularly rust. Matrix has demonstrated exceptional resistance to yellow rust and brown rust. In seasons where rust pressure is high, this trait is a real cost-saver.

Regarding plant density, Matrix achieves 4.5–5.0 million productive stems per hectare. This density is ideal for effective canopy closure, which suppresses weed competition early on and maximizes photosynthesis efficiency.

Why Choose Matrix?

• Crop Type: Soft winter wheat from Germany.
• Yield Potential: Up to 9–10 tonnes per hectare.
• Stem Density: 4.5–5.0 million productive stems/ha.
• Disease Resistance: Superior performance against yellow and brown rust.

Under an intensive management program, including balanced nitrogen fertilization, Matrix consistently hits the 9–10 tonne per hectare mark. It responds well to high-input environments, translating fertilizer into grain mass effectively. If you are looking for a reliable, high-yielding variety that offers both peace of mind against disease and excellent harvestability, this variety is a solid choice.
