The active ingredient is rimsulfuron at a concentration of 500 g/kg, which inhibits the acetolactate synthase enzyme, leading to rapid cessation of weed growth within several hours after application and complete death within 3-4 weeks. The product is available in water-soluble granule form, easily dispersible in water, packaged in 0.1 kg units. Escudo is applied post-emergence, during the 2-6 leaf stage of corn or when plants reach 10-25 cm in height. The application rate is 20-25 g/ha for corn and 25 g/ha for potatoes, with the recommendation to use with the surfactant Adjuvant at a rate of 200 ml/ha to enhance efficacy. The herbicide is effective against weeds such as goosegrass, barnyardgrass, crabgrass, creeping bentgrass, sowthistle, ragweed, medicinal rye, and annual sunflower. The product is safe for subsequent crops and compatible with other pesticides, except organophosphorus insecticides. The herbicide can be stored in unopened packaging for up to three years. Escudo has a hazard class of 3, requiring precautions during handling.
