DEVIZ is a variety of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), characterized by a mid-early maturity period and medium height. It possesses lodging resistance and moderate drought resistance, making it suitable for cultivation in various regions, including the Pridonovskaya zone of Rostov Oblast, the Right-bank zone of Volgograd Oblast, the Central and West-Delta zones of Krasnodar Krai, as well as the Southern zone of Rostov Oblast. The vegetative period of the variety ranges from 222 to 285 days, and the 1000-grain weight varies between 36-49 grams. Yield in the North Caucasus region reaches 42.5 centners per hectare.

The variety is moderately resistant to brown and yellow rust, as well as to septoria, but is susceptible to powdery mildew, Fusarium head blight, and loose smut. Due to these characteristics, DEVIZ requires careful attention to plant protection to ensure a stable yield.

A feature of the variety is its unique genetic composition, obtained through hybridization with couch grass—a wild grass. A small fragment of the couch grass chromosome containing genes responsible for high vitamin and mineral content was transferred to the wheat genome. Unlike modern baking varieties, DEVIZ contains a minimal amount of gluten, making its grain more beneficial and compatible with healthy eating principles. The variety is recommended for making bread from sprouted grain without using flour and yeast, highlighting its unique nutritional properties.
