BEZENCHUKSKAYA 616

BEZENCHUKSKAYA 616 is a variety of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) characterized by a medium maturity period and a vegetative period ranging from 304 to 335 days. The variety is tall and possesses lodging resistance, which contributes to yield preservation under unfavorable weather conditions. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 33 to 42 grams, and the type belongs to lutenscence. Due to enhanced winter hardiness and drought resistance at the level of the Bezenchukskaya 380 variety, this variety is well adapted to growing conditions in the Volga-Vyatsk region, particularly in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

In terms of grain quality, BEZENCHUKSKAYA 616 differs with good baking properties, making it valuable for the production of high-quality flour. The protein content in the grain is from 14 to 15.8%, and raw gluten is from 32 to 37%, which ensures excellent technological characteristics during processing. However, the variety is susceptible to certain diseases, such as brown rust, snow mold, root rots, and especially hard smut, which requires careful approach to plant protection.

The lineage of the variety includes a hybrid population obtained from the crossing of Bezenchukskaya 380 and Volgodar, which ensures high yield — on average 38.3 centners per hectare, which is 3.5 centners higher than the regional average standard. The variety is recommended for cultivation in regions with similar climatic conditions where resistance to unfavorable factors and high grain quality are valued.
