AIST 45

AIST 45 is a variety of winter soft wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), developed by FGBNU UrFANIC UrO RAS and included in the State Register for the Volga-Vyatka and Ural regions. The variety belongs to the medium-late type and is characterized by high resistance to diseases such as solid smut and brown rust, ensuring crop stability even under stressful conditions. At the same time, the variety is susceptible to powdery mildew, which should be taken into account when conducting agricultural technical measures. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 35 to 44 grams, indicating good grain quality.

Based on the results of ecological tests, AIST 45 demonstrates high yield and plasticity, as well as excellent grain quality indicators. Protein content in the grain is within 15.7–16.3%, and gluten content is 31.6–32.4%, making this variety valuable for the production of quality flour and bakery products. Due to these characteristics, the variety can be used not only for cultivation but also as source material in breeding work.

The average yield of the variety in the Volga-Vyatka region reaches 35.4 centners per hectare, in the Ural region—about 14.8 centners per hectare. These figures confirm the variety's adaptability to various climatic conditions and its potential for obtaining stable harvests. AIST 45 is recommended for cultivation in areas with corresponding agro-climatic conditions, where it shows its best qualities and resistance to major diseases.
