KRASA ZHUKOVA

KRASA ZHUKOVA is a cherry variety developed at the I.V. Michurin All-Russian Research Institute of Horticulture and Plant Breeding (VNIIGiSPR) by crossing the Kozlovskaya variety with a promising hybrid form. The tree is characterized by a high, broadly ovoid shape with sparse branching and a pyramidal crown of medium density. The leaves are flat, of medium size with a finely serrated margin. This variety is characterized by high winter hardiness, resistance to viral diseases and pests, as well as drought and heat tolerance, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. The fruits of KRASA ZHUKOVA have an oval or heart-shaped shape and a dark red color with pink or red flesh. The fruit weight is about 4.5 grams; they have a sour-sweet or sweet-sour taste with a cartilaginous flesh texture. The cherry ripens early, with harvest possible as early as June. The variety is partially self-fertile, which promotes stable and high yields, reaching an average of 115.4 centners per hectare. Successful cultivation of KRASA ZHUKOVA requires a sunny location, which promotes the development and fruiting of the tree.
