Vetch Orlan

Agrotechnical profile and productivity potential

The spring vetch variety «Orlan», developed by the originator «Іксгп Наан» (XGP Naan), represents a specialized breeding solution designed for creating a high-protein feed base in Ukrainian soil and climatic conditions. The primary technical value of this variety lies in its stable yield of green mass and seeds, achieved through high adaptability to fluctuating moisture and temperature parameters.

Technical analysis of the crop

• Protein density: As a legume crop, «Orlan» effectively accumulates protein in its vegetative mass, which is a decisive factor for high-quality hay and silage production.
• Growth dynamics: The variety exhibits intense early-stage development, which minimizes the need for extensive weed control measures.
• Nitrogen fixation: Through symbiosis with nodule bacteria, the crop actively enriches the soil with nitrogen, creating an optimal foundation for subsequent crops in the rotation cycle.

Integrating «Orlan» into agricultural production allows for the optimization of animal feeding rations, ensuring a consistent level of essential amino acids. Beyond its direct function as a forage crop, this variety serves as an excellent predecessor, facilitating the accumulation of organic matter in the arable soil layer and enhancing fertility for future winter grain cultivation.
