Vika is a winter (winter-hardy) cultivar flour intended for cultivation in the moderate climatic conditions of Russia and the CIS countries. The variety is characterized by high yield, good resistance to diseases and pests, as well as excellent adaptability to fertilizer processing.
Vika's fruitfulness ranges from 1 to 1.2 tons/hectare, which is an average indicator for winter varieties. Growth periods vary from 70 to 80 days from sowing to harvest. Key advantages include resistance to powdery mildew, root rot, and fungal diseases, as well as large-grained soil form with medium grain density.
To achieve maximum productivity, sowing is recommended at a soil temperature of +5 °C to +15 °C in an amount of 20–30 kg/hectare. Fertilization should include 120–150 kg/hectare of nitrogen fertilizers, 50–70 kg/hectare of phosphorus, and 30–40 kg/hectare of potassium substances. Regular watering during drought periods up to 200 mm/day supports stable plant growth.
Vika is distinguished by high yield, which makes it suitable for commercial production. Good adaptability to fertilizer and pesticide processing ensures stability even under unfavorable conditions, as well as good resistance to climatic stresses, including cold nights and moderate droughts.
The Vika variety is registered as a trademark «GORODETSKAYA®» and is protected by patents on its genetic structure.
