Description Mariya
Beetroot variety Mariya is the result of selection performed by crossing with transmission of traits of a single-seed line of sugar beet. This diploid variety is characterized by yellow root color and high uniformity, reaching 94%. The roots have a cylindrical-conical shape with a small head, weighing from 4 to 5 kg, measuring 35–43 cm in length and about 12.8 cm in diameter. They are shallowly embedded in the soil, which facilitates harvesting and processing. The vegetative period is 135–140 days, enabling a stable harvest at optimal times. Variety Mariya shows moderate resistance to diseases such as root rot and cercosporosis, enhancing its reliability under various growing conditions. The yield of roots reaches 82 tons per hectare, indicating high productivity of the variety. The chemical composition of the roots includes 11.0% dry matter, 9.3% sugars, and 1.3% protein, at pH 7.4, making this variety particularly valuable for feeding livestock. Additionally, the seed type of variety Mariya is productive, reaches a height of up to 120 cm, and is characterized by dense clustering of seed pods. These features ensure high-quality seed material and facilitate successful propagation of the crop. Due to its characteristics and resistance, sugar beet Mariya is an excellent choice for farmers seeking a high-quality and high-yield feed product.
