Vetch Isida

Stable yields in a changing climate

The spring vetch variety 'Izida', developed by the Bila Tserkva Research Station named after O.K. Kolomiyets, has firmly established itself in the high-yield legume segment. This variety is primarily aimed at agricultural enterprises operating in the Forest-Steppe and Polissya regions, where resistance to lodging and drought during the flowering phase is crucial.

Key advantages

• High yield potential for both green mass and seeds, making it a versatile choice for forage and commercial production.
• Enhanced adaptability: the variety demonstrates stable results even when optimal sowing times are slightly missed.
• Disease resistance: inherent genetic protection against common pulse crop diseases like root rot and rust reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications.

Who is this variety for?

'Izida' is an optimal choice for farms practicing intensive agriculture that require a reliable source of plant-based protein. Unlike many foreign counterparts, this variety is tailored to the local soil and climatic conditions of Ukraine, minimizing the risk of yield loss during sharp temperature fluctuations.

Considerations

Like any high-yield legume, 'Izida' requires proper soil preparation and careful management of seeding density. If agronomic practices are neglected, the productivity potential may not be fully realized. Therefore, this variety performs best in operations with established fertilization protocols. Choosing 'Izida' means choosing proven Ukrainian breeding that excels in local field conditions.
