Tulip Madurodam

Madurodam: A resilient yellow tulip for professional growers

The 'Madurodam' tulip belongs to the Triumph class, known for a sturdy stem and a classic goblet shape. However, what truly separates this hybrid from its peers is its biological resilience. In an industry where plant health is paramount, Madurodam offers a significant advantage for those looking to minimize crop failure.

Why Madurodam stands out

• Superior Disease Resistance: This variety is bred to withstand Tobacco Mosaic Virus and Fusarium wilt, common pathogens that can devastate tulip crops. Its robust profile also includes resistance to Cladosporium, reducing the need for intensive fungicide applications.
• Ideal for Potted Production: Due to its short stature, Madurodam is tailor-made for container gardening and forced indoor growth. It maintains a compact, dense habit without the need for growth regulators, which is a major cost-saver for commercial growers.
• Visual Impact: The vibrant, saturated yellow petals create a striking color block, making them highly desirable for spring retail displays.

Is this the right variety for you?

If you specialize in potted tulips rather than long-stem cut flowers, Madurodam is a powerhouse. Its low height is a limitation for standard bouquet arrangements, but it is an asset for patio decor and compact gift pots. For growers who prioritize reliability, health, and uniformity, Madurodam offers a lower-risk investment compared to more delicate, high-maintenance varieties.
