Chrysanthemum Veselka

Technical Profile of Chrysanthemum 'Veselka'

Developed by the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden, this cultivar is a specialized tool for professional floriculture and landscape design. The 'Veselka' variety stands out due to its genetic architecture, which merges the structural robustness of large-flowered chrysanthemums with the intricate aesthetics of an anemone-type inflorescence.

Inflorescence Engineering

The primary feature of the plant is its large flower, measuring over 10 cm in diameter. The anemone shape is achieved via a dense central disc of tubular florets, framed by a distinct row of ray florets. The polychromatic palette (yellow, red, violet) renders the variety a versatile instrument for color-based garden planning. A significant operational advantage is its longevity: with proper agrotechnical care, the active blooming phase exceeds 40 days, commencing in September.

Agronomic Specifications and Utility

• Growth Habit: Single-stem structure, requiring minimal correctional pruning.
• Dimensions: Medium-stature type (30–60 cm), which optimizes spatial distribution in flower beds and facilitates processing for cut flower markets.
• Hardiness: The cultivar exhibits medium frost resistance, necessitating standard protective measures during severe winter conditions.

‘Veselka’ is meticulously balanced for both dense bouquet compositions and creating vivid visual focal points in landscaping. Selecting this cultivar is justified by the requirement for early-season, high-aesthetic-value production within the Ukrainian climate zone.
