Tulip Moonshine

Moonshine: Lily-flowered elegance meets high resilience

The Moonshine tulip is a striking example of how aesthetics can pair with robust physiology. Unlike many lily-flowered hybrids that are notorious for being susceptible to pathogens, Moonshine offers a reliable alternative due to its impressive resistance profile. It shows high tolerance to tobacco mosaic virus, Fusarium wilt, and Cladosporium, making it a standout in terms of health and vigor.

Visual and Structural Excellence

Featuring a vibrant, pure yellow hue, the Moonshine blossom embodies the classic lily-flowered shape: petals that taper to an elegant point and gently flare outwards. Standing at a medium height, these tulips are perfectly proportioned for mid-border planting. They offer a refined, architectural appearance that doesn't overwhelm smaller plants but maintains a strong presence against larger garden features.

Why choose Moonshine?

• Reliable Performance: The high disease resistance significantly lowers the risk of losing bulbs, ensuring a consistent bloom season after season.
• Late-Season Impact: As a late-flowering variety, it allows gardeners to extend the display of their bulb gardens well into the final weeks of spring.
• Commercial Appeal: Its sturdy stem and durable petals make it a preferred choice for cut-flower arrangements, providing excellent vase life and transit durability.

The primary consideration for potential growers is its late-blooming schedule; this is not a variety for early spring color. However, for those looking to bridge the gap between late spring and early summer, Moonshine provides an unmatched combination of beauty and health. It is an ideal pick for those who prefer low-intervention gardening without sacrificing the dramatic, sophisticated look of lily-flowered tulips.
