Tulip Royal Design

The Elegance of Lily-Flowered Tulips: The Royal Design Profile

The Royal Design variety stands as a prominent representative of the lily-flowered tulip group, highly valued for its sophisticated petal structure and robust garden performance. As a hybrid, it was specifically developed to bridge the gap between delicate aesthetic appeal and the practical necessity of resilience in varying environmental conditions.

Technical Specifications and Disease Resistance

The hallmark of Royal Design is its slender, gracefully reflexed petals, which showcase a rich palette of deep red and lilac hues. Beyond its striking visual impact, the variety has earned its place on the market due to its biological stability:

• High resistance to Fusarium and Cladosporium, reducing the risk of bulb decay in diverse soil types.
• Proven immunity to Tobacco Mosaic Virus, ensuring the flowers retain their intended color intensity without viral variegation.

With an average plant height, it serves as an ideal architectural element in floral borders or medium-height landscaping layers. Its mid-season bloom timing allows it to play a crucial role in creating a cohesive transition in garden beds between early species and late-blooming large-headed hybrids.

Market Positioning and Application

For landscape designers and horticultural professionals, Royal Design represents a reliable investment. It is favored for its uniform bulb quality and consistent, upright habit. The variety is widely used not only in high-end private landscapes but also in commercial park planting, where durability and a prolonged, visually consistent blooming season are paramount. It remains a staple for those seeking a balance between a premium look and minimal susceptibility to common tulip pathogens.
