Tulip Auxerre

Late-Blooming Elegance

The 'Auxerre' tulip distinguishes itself among fringed varieties with its delicate, bi-color palette. Petals painted in soft white with expressive pink transitions create an airy effect, further enhanced by the elegant 'needle-like' fringe along the edges. Unlike many classic tulips, this variety is late-blooming, extending the decorative season in the garden well after most early bulbous plants have finished flowering.

Agronomic Advantages

The primary argument for choosing 'Auxerre' for professional floriculture is its genetic resilience to a complex of pathogens. Managing this variety requires fewer fungicide applications due to its resistance to:

• Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV)
• Fusarium (basal rot)
• Cladosporiosis (leaf spot)

These characteristics make it a reliable choice for cultivation in high-humidity regions, where the risk of fungal infections is traditionally elevated.

Operational Insights

The medium height of the flower stalk makes 'Auxerre' a versatile solution: it is equally impressive in landscape mass plantings and cut flower arrangements. The plant features a sturdy stem that maintains its structure well even during late-season blooms. It is ideal for those prioritizing aesthetic refinement without the burden of extensive disease management. While it requires fertile soil to achieve maximum bud size, proper basic agrotechnics ensure the variety delivers consistent and predictable results.
