Tulip Victory Maid

Victory Maid: A Reliable Choice for Commercial Floriculture

The 'Victory Maid' tulip, representing the Triumph class, is a staple for growers focusing on mid-season bloom production. This variety is valued not only for its striking violet-and-white petal coloration but also for its robust agronomic profile, which is essential for maintaining a high yield in professional settings.

Practical Implementation and Agrotechnics

Selecting 'Victory Maid' for a production cycle is primarily driven by its resistance to common greenhouse pathogens, which directly influences operational costs and output quality:

• Disease Resistance: The variety exhibits inherent resistance to cladosporium and powdery mildew. This trait significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications, even in high-humidity environments.
• Virus Management: Resistance to cucumber mosaic virus ensures the integrity of the crop, minimizing the risk of petal deformation or loss of vigor in plant stands.
• Management in Production: As a mid-season bloomer of medium height, this tulip is ideally suited for standardized harvest protocols, fitting seamlessly into rotation schedules after early-blooming varieties.

To ensure consistent growth, greenhouse operators should prioritize controlled irrigation and temperature regulation. These measures help maintain the density of the stem and the vibrancy of the violet pigments, ensuring the blooms meet the standards required for wholesale markets. 'Victory Maid' proves that combining ornamental appeal with strong disease resistance is the most effective path toward stable profitability in tulip cultivation.
