BEAUTY OF KUZBAS

Badan "Beauty of Kuzbas" – a decorative-leafed perennial created by scientists of the Kuzbas Botanical Garden, UGIL and UGCH Research Institute of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The variety is distinguished by the bright color of the corolla and exceptional autumn leaf coloration, as well as the ability to rebloom in the autumn period.

The plant reaches a height of 20–30 cm, forming dense bushes with semi-matte leathery leaves about 20 cm in diameter. Leaves remain green in winter and change color to bronze-red in autumn, adding bright contrasts to the garden. Inflorescences grow up to 35–120 cm high and bear loose inflorescences of small funnel-shaped flowers, which can be white, pink, cream, or purple.

Badan "Beauty of Kuzbas" is easy to grow: it is frost-hardy, does not require winter covering, and prefers partial shade with diffused light. The soil should be moderately fertile, light, and well-drained; with proper planting, rhizomes spread, forming dense clumps, which simplifies care. Plant care is simple: it is necessary to maintain moderate soil moisture, avoid stagnation and overdrying. Fertilizing is carried out after flowering (June). Pests and diseases are rare; rot may occur with water stagnation.

Badan is widely used in landscape design: it is suitable for the design of borders, mixed borders, rock compositions, rockeries, and alpine slides. Due to its decorative qualities even in winter, as well as the ability to rebloom, this variety becomes a valuable element of the garden, adding a picturesque look to it at any time of the year.
