Tulip The First

Reliable performance for early spring

The Kaufmanniana tulip 'The First' is a professional choice for those who value predictability and low maintenance in bulb production. As a grower, you will appreciate its ability to perform consistently with minimal losses, making it an excellent investment for early-season displays.

Resilience and disease management

The primary operational advantage of this variety is its robust natural immunity. 'The First' is highly resistant to fusarium and root rot, significantly reducing the labor and costs associated with fungicide applications during storage and planting. Its tolerance to powdery mildew ensures that the foliage remains healthy even during cool, damp spring conditions, reducing the need for aggressive chemical intervention.

Practical use and maintenance

The low-growth habit makes 'The First' an ideal candidate for specific landscaping tasks:

• Front-border planting and rock gardens where height control is essential.
• Container gardening, as it thrives in compact root environments.
• Early-season accents that stand up well to wind without the need for staking.

Visually, the striking red and white petal combination provides a vibrant early-season impact. From a maintenance perspective, the variety is straightforward: standard watering and fertilizing regimes are sufficient for the plant to reach its full potential. It offers the perfect balance of aesthetic appeal and minimal downtime for the operator.
