Tulip Sun Child

Reliability and Classics: Why Sun Child Stays on Top

In the world of Triumph tulips, where dozens of new varieties appear annually, Sun Child maintains its position through predictability and impeccable bud shape. Unlike many cultivars that are sensitive to soil composition or humidity, this tulip demonstrates enviable resistance to key pathogens.

Health as a Key Advantage

The primary strength of Sun Child is its immune profile. Breeders have achieved a high threshold of resistance to fusarium and verticillium wilt, making it a favorite for commercial outdoor cultivation. Furthermore, the variety is resistant to tomato mosaic virus and cladosporiosis, significantly reducing the costs of fungicidal treatments.

• Flowering type: mid-season, allowing for a smooth entry into the sales season.
• Height: tall stem with a sturdy peduncle that prevents lodging even in strong winds.
• Visual characteristics: a classic goblet shape in a rich, vibrant yellow.

Who is this variety for?

If you are looking for a reliable performer for forcing or cutting, this is an ideal option. It has minimal weaknesses: like any representative of the Triumph group, it requires strict temperature control during bulb storage to ensure uniform flowering. However, in terms of phytosanitary safety, Sun Child outperforms many yellow competitors, ensuring a high yield of marketable products without losses.
