Aster Libid

Performance and Aesthetics in Landscape Design

The 'Lybid' aster variety, developed by the Institute of Horticulture of NAAS, is a reliable tool for professional landscaping. As an annual crop, it is engineered for uniformity, ensuring that your floral displays remain consistent in both height and bloom size throughout the growing season.

Operational Insights

• Structural Integrity: Growing to a height of 50–80 cm, 'Lybid' provides a solid presence in the middle or back of a flower bed without requiring intensive support structures.
• Bloom Quality: The needle-like petals form an impressive 10–15 cm flower head. The crisp white color offers excellent versatility, working well as a centerpiece or a contrast element in varied designs.
• Maintenance Cycle: Since it is an annual variety that does not overwinter, the post-season maintenance is straightforward—the beds are cleared completely, allowing for easy rotation of crops the following year.

For the gardener or landscape operator, 'Lybid' is highly predictable. During the vegetative phase, it requires standard maintenance—primarily ensuring adequate hydration during the budding stage to support the development of its large flowers. The variety’s ability to thrive under typical Ukrainian climatic conditions makes it a robust choice for those looking to combine aesthetic impact with low-maintenance operational cycles.
