Tulip Queen Ingrid

Why Queen Ingrid stands out in the garden

The Greigii tulip Queen Ingrid is designed for those who value structural integrity over mere height. Unlike many standard tulips that may lean or break under heavy rain, this variety maintains a compact, sturdy posture, making it exceptionally reliable for exposed garden beds and borders.

A masterclass in color

The true charm of this cultivar lies in its striking color palette: bold, vibrant red petals edged with a soft, creamy margin. This sharp contrast creates a sophisticated look that draws the eye even from a distance. As a Greigii hybrid, it also boasts the signature mottled, decorative foliage that adds visual interest long before and after the blooms reach their peak.

Strengths and planting tips

• Durability: Exceptionally resilient against spring showers and wind, thanks to its robust stem structure.
• Seasonality: As a mid-season bloomer, it acts as a perfect bridge between early and late spring varieties.
• Versatility: Its moderate height makes it an ideal choice for the foreground of garden beds.
• Strategic placement: Because it is not a tall variety, it should be positioned carefully to ensure it remains a focal point rather than being overshadowed by larger hybrids.

This variety is optimal for gardeners seeking a balance between classic flower form and a distinct, premium look. It performs best in mass groupings, where the interplay of red and cream can create a truly cohesive and inviting display.
