Tulip Princesse Charmante

Cultivation and Maintenance of Greigii Tulips

Choosing the 'Princesse Charmante' variety for landscaping is a decision focused on predictability. As a member of the Greigii class, this hybrid is characterized by robust performance and resilience in outdoor settings. The plant features a sturdy, medium-height stem, ensuring it remains upright during windy spring weather without the need for additional staking or support systems, which significantly reduces maintenance labor.

Performance and Growing Requirements

• Flowering Period: Mid-season bloomer. The consistency in growth stages allows for precise planning of floral displays.
• Visual Impact: The vibrant red petals exhibit excellent resistance to fading under direct sunlight, maintaining high aesthetic value throughout the season without requiring special protection.
• Bulb Maintenance: Known for superior winter hardiness, this variety does not require annual lifting in standard climates, making it an efficient choice for large-scale plantings.

When operating a garden or commercial flower bed with 'Princesse Charmante', prioritize well-drained soil locations. While the variety is relatively low-maintenance, preventing waterlogging is key to long-term bulb health. The plant responds well to standard fertilization schedules and is highly effective for both focal massing and structured border planting. Its uniform growth habit eliminates the need for labor-intensive leveling or thinning, ensuring a clean and professional appearance in any landscape setup.
