Tulip Double Red Ridinghood

The Greigii legacy: Double Red Riding Hood

Double Red Riding Hood has solidified its position within the Greigii tulip class by offering a rare fusion of classic structural integrity and unique ornamental texture. Unlike the standard varieties of this group, this hybrid stands out with its double-layered blooms that mimic the lushness of peonies. The intense, deep red hue of the petals serves as a vibrant focal point, making it a go-to choice for sophisticated spring landscapes.

Agronomic performance and market position

Falling into the mid-season bloom category, this tulip effectively bridges the gap between early botanical varieties and later-blooming hybrids. Its moderate height makes it remarkably wind-resistant, a crucial trait for open garden spaces. The foliage, adorned with the iconic mottled markings typical of the Greigii type, adds aesthetic value even before the plants enter their main flowering phase.

• Resilience: The variety exhibits high adaptability to various soil types and moderate climate fluctuations.
• Landscape Utility: Ideal for border planting, rock gardens, and foreground layering in mixed borders.
• Structural Stability: Sturdy stems eliminate the need for staking, ensuring low-maintenance upkeep throughout the season.

The reputation of Double Red Riding Hood is built on a foundation of reliability and striking visual impact. It remains a preferred choice for both professional landscapers and garden enthusiasts who prioritize consistent results and seasonal durability.
