Tulip Grower's Pride

Predictability in Flower Production

The 'Grower's Pride' Greigii tulip is a professional-grade variety designed for growers who prioritize consistency. The primary operational advantage of this cultivar is its robust disease resistance. In field conditions, where high humidity and density often lead to outbreaks, this variety maintains a clean, marketable profile with minimal intervention.

Field Performance and Disease Management

• Pathogen Resistance: It shows high resistance to anthracnose, verticillium wilt, fusarium, and brown spot. This significantly lowers overhead costs by reducing the need for aggressive fungicide application programs.
• Pest Resilience: Its inherent resistance to spider mites simplifies maintenance, reducing the frequency of monitoring and protective spraying during peak insect activity periods.
• Powdery Mildew Tolerance: The plant retains its foliage health throughout the growing cycle, even under fluctuating temperature conditions, ensuring the crop remains saleable until the final harvest day.

Operational Benefits

The 'Grower's Pride' falls into the medium-height category, which is an ideal ergonomic fit for standard planting layouts. The plants are sturdy, eliminating the labor-intensive requirement for staking or support systems, even in open or windy areas. The deep, vibrant red of the petals is a market favorite, providing a consistent product that is easy to grade and sell.

For the operator, 'Grower's Pride' is a low-maintenance asset. Its predictable mid-season bloom time allows for precise harvest scheduling, which is essential for meeting wholesale deadlines. Its durability makes it a reliable choice that stands up to the rigors of commercial cultivation, effectively reducing 'wastage' and maximizing your bottom line.
