Tulip Sombrero

Operational reliability: cultivating the Sombrero tulip

For professional landscapers and nursery operators, the Greigii tulip 'Sombrero' stands out as a low-maintenance, high-reliability asset. Unlike many delicate decorative bulbs, this variety displays robust resistance to common pathogens, including downy mildew, olive spot, and powdery mildew. This innate disease resistance translates into lower fungicide consumption and fewer man-hours required for site maintenance.

Key performance indicators

The variety's medium height ensures structural stability, preventing the stems from lodging during windy conditions, thus eliminating the need for expensive or labor-intensive support systems. Its mid-season blooming window makes it an essential component for succession planting in professional landscaping projects.

• Visual appeal: consistent, deep red petal pigmentation that retains its vibrancy throughout the entire flowering cycle.
• Sanitary performance: strong resistance to the cucumber mosaic virus minimizes the risk of stock degradation, protecting your investment even in mixed-planting environments.
• Maintenance: as a Greigii tulip, it excels in standard soil conditions and does not require annual lifting, significantly reducing seasonal labor costs.

Experience confirms that 'Sombrero' requires minimal intervention beyond basic spring fertilization. For those managing urban green spaces or private gardens who demand high aesthetic results with low service requirements, this variety offers a proven, durable solution that performs consistently season after season.
