Tulip Purple Lady

Technical Specifications of Purple Lady

The «Purple Lady» tulip, classified as a Triumph hybrid, is a result of selective breeding focused on structural integrity and color stability. Categorized as a mid-season bloomer, this cultivar serves as a reliable tool for professional greenhouse forcing and open-field production cycles.

Structural Morphology

• Stem Mechanics: The plant features a medium height, engineered to prevent lodging caused by wind loads. The stem possesses high vascular rigidity, ensuring it can support a heavy, classic goblet-shaped bloom without the need for auxiliary staking.
• Pigmentation Factors: The intense lilac hue is attributed to high anthocyanin concentrations. Unlike many other cultivars, the petal epidermis is textured for high resistance against UV radiation, ensuring color fidelity even under prolonged sunlight exposure.
• Growth Dynamics: The medium flowering schedule provides an evolutionary buffer against early spring cold snaps, which significantly reduces susceptibility to fungal pathogens that often plague earlier bloomers.

Operational Utility

This hybrid exhibits high responsiveness to precise forcing regimes. The biological programming within the bulb allows for predictable temperature-controlled growth, facilitating staggered harvesting. In outdoor production, «Purple Lady» demonstrates excellent post-flowering bulb vitality, ensuring a consistent multiplication rate and robust bulb health for subsequent planting seasons.
