Aster SHAMOYA OLD CASTLE PYONIFLORA ASTER

Elegance in Champagne Tones: Aster 'Old Castle Chamois'

In the world of floriculture, it is rare to find a variety that combines the architectural structure of a peony-like flower with such a rare, sophisticated shade. The 'Old Castle Chamois' (Staryy Zamok Shamua) aster from the 'Biotechnika' Association is a breeding response to professional florists and landscape designers seeking something more refined than traditional pinks or blues. Its soft, muted-yellow color, reminiscent of champagne or ivory, makes it a versatile tool for both monochromatic bouquets and accent points in borders.

Key Advantages and Features

• Fusarium Resistance: The primary challenge for asters—fungal diseases—is minimized here. This significantly simplifies maintenance, especially in high-humidity regions.
• Peony-like Structure: Dense, double-flowered inflorescences (up to 10 cm in diameter) maintain their shape even under unfavorable weather conditions, avoiding the 'soggy' look often caused by rain.
• Dimensions: With stems reaching 50–80 cm, the variety is ideal for cut flowers. The plant features a sturdy stem, reducing the need for complex staking.

Who Is This Hybrid For?

This variety is optimal for those growing flowers commercially: 'Old Castle Chamois' handles transportation exceptionally well and retains its freshness in a vase for an extended period. For container gardening enthusiasts, it is also an excellent option, provided the plant is placed in a container appropriate for its height.

It is important to note that like most annual asters, this variety does not overwinter in open ground. Its life cycle requires annual renewal, which ensures the purity of genetic traits and predictable flowering every season. If your goal is to achieve an aesthetic, disease-resistant, and visually 'premium' result with minimal need for fungicidal treatments, choosing this variety developed by Kononov and Krasnikov is a sound decision.
